Cherokee Nation Health Services (CNHS)

Cherokee Nation Health Services (CNHS) is a growing, multifaceted, highly accredited healthcare organization, and the largest tribal operated health system in the United States with over 3 million patient visits a year across 11 healthcare facilities, including the new Salina Amo Health Center, the new $450M W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah and the newly expanded Cherokee Nation Claremore Outpatient and Emergency Health Center which Cherokee Nation is investing $400 million for a new facility to be completed in 2028.

CNHS is also a teaching health system with the only medical school on tribal land, the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah OK and through the tribe’s “21^st Century Cherokee Healthcare Workforce Initiative”, has established the Cherokee Nation Nursing and Allied Health Education Center through a partnership with OU, transforming the current W.W. Hastings Hospital into a state-of-the-art nursing education campus scheduled to open in 2027.
