The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking an exceptional and innovative full-time urologist trained in Sexual Medicine and Male Infertility to join the Department of Urology. The successful candidate is a respected clinician, educator, and researcher whose scholarly work has or will have impact for the field of Urology. The academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The qualified applicant should have SMSNA fellowship training and experience in clinical management, research, and teaching of residents and medical students. The scope of duties includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients presenting with various disorders of the genitourinary system in office and hospital settings, with particular focus on sexual dysfunction, hypogonadism, Peyronie’s disease, ejaculatory dysfunction, and male infertility. This mature practice boasts a high volume of prosthetics and open access to the da Vinci Robotic System. The practice has an established referral network with existing multidisciplinary collaborations and includes a dedicated nurse practitioner, state of the art video-urodynamics suite, substantial procedural and office space, and efficient clinical staff. Based on experience, there are added opportunities within a newly developed multidisciplinary Center for Gender Affirming Care. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physician’s standards of practice.

The Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report (#24) for delivering the highest quality of care for the treatment of urologic conditions. Our mission is to alleviate patient suffering from urologic disorders through an integrative model of extraordinary clinical care, patient-centered discovery and educational innovation in service of the citizens of Ohio and beyond. Our vision is to transform the lives of our patients through this comprehensive approach to urologic practice. The Department of Urology has a rich history and timeline dating back to 1917. Under the leadership of Cheryl Lee, MD, as chair, the Department is composed of six specialty Divisions with 21 adult faculty members and 13 advanced practice providers. Collectively, the Department performs nearly 20,000 clinical and operative procedures, annually. Seven pediatric urologists at Nationwide Children’s Hospital have academic appointments in the Department. Clinical care, research, education, and community service are major priorities, and the Department is engaged in multicenter and multispecialty initiatives. The Department sponsors fellowship programs in Endourology (Endourological Society) and Urologic Oncology (Society of Urologic Oncology) while Nationwide Children’s Hospital sponsors a fellowship in pediatric urology (Society for Pediatric Urology).


Duties and Responsibilities
The scope of duties includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients with various disorders of the genitourinary system in the ambulatory and hospital settings, including sexual dysfunction, evaluation and treatment of male infertility, management of hypogonadism, Peyronie’s Disease, evaluation and treatment of ejaculatory disorders, and general urology related to Men’s Health. The practice is supported by a full-time advanced practice provider, a sexual counselor, and a dedicated and experienced clinic staff.

  1. Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  2. Licensed or license eligible for State of Ohio and DEA licensure
  3. Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology
  4. Advanced fellowship training in Men’s Sexual Health/Andrology
  5. Qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, faculty members, and other stakeholders
  7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  8. Commitment to maintaining high standards of resident education and fostering a positive learning environment
