WVUHS Medical Group seeks a Trauma Surgeon. The successful candidate will practice primarily at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of trauma surgery and +1 will be Critical Care. This role is shift-based with a required 18 shifts per month.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed general surgery residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in general surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
This role is part of a Surgery team and, although primarily at one location, acts as a unit to support the Northern Region if needed. As full members of our WVU Health System, Reynolds Memorial Hospital and Wheeling Hospital are part of a broad, integrated network of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and specialized institutes. Whether you are caring for our patients at one of the critical access hospitals, community sites, regional or academic medical centers, we are all one WVU Health System.
The WVU Health System Medical Group formed in 2021 and has since grown to 900 physicians and advanced practice providers. Caregivers affiliated with the group practice in all 25 WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics. The group’s physicians serve in a variety of specialties and subspecialties – from primary care to advanced specialty care – and work in tandem with the WVU faculty practice plan.
