Physician | General Hematologist/Oncologist | Weirton Medical Center
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Oncology seek a General Hematologist/Oncologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Weirton, West Virginia.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Hematology/Oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for a state medical license. A successful candidate must have completed an Internal Medicine residency program, as well as a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Hematology/Oncology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Weirton Medical Center is an acute care, 240-bed institution (187 acute care beds, 20 adult psychiatric beds, and 33 skilled care beds) serving the Northern panhandle of West Virginia, Eastern Ohio, and suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The medical/dental staff consists of some 170 physicians with board-certified physicians in the medical and surgical subspecialties. Overall, WMC employs more than 1,000 people. Weirton is located 30 miles from Wheeling Hospital, another WVU Health System hospital.
