Our new 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.

The WVUCI was recently named one of the top cancer hospitals by Newsweek and provides care to over 125,000 patients annually. Multidisciplinary medical teams use the latest cancer therapies, sophisticated technologies, and patient-driven research to deliver the best possible treatment. WVU, the WVUHS, and the state of WV are engaged and committed to moving the WVUCI toward obtaining NCI Designation. The Division of Medical Oncology includes over 75 physicians and advanced practice professionals at 15 practice sites across our multi-state network. The WVUCI has a dedicated Clinical Research Unit (CRU) providing all administrative and regulatory support.
