Job Description

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Radiology seek Nuclear Medicine Radiologists (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of diagnostic and nuclear radiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be eligible for medical licensure in the states where WVU Medicine provides imaging services. The successful candidate must have completed either a combined nuclear medicine/radiology residency, or a radiology residency along with a one-year nuclear medicine/PET fellowship and possess ABIM certification. However, a nuclear medicine pathway with ABNM certification will be considered under the right circumstances. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The Division of Nuclear Medicine and PET Imaging is seeking an individual with a strong background in nuclear medicine and experience in all facets of diagnostic imaging, including oncology, cardiology, and neurology protocols. Experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy is highly desirable, as our Division is actively involved in both conventional and innovative therapies for conditions such as thyroid cancer, lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumors, and prostate cancer. The Division collaborates closely with the Neurosciences and Heart & Vascular Institutes. Our resources include cutting-edge PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and gamma camera equipment, along with advanced computer hardware and software for nuclear medicine processing and analysis, and an on-site cyclotron.

The Department of Radiology is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. We promote, develop, and integrate advances in imaging technology and imaging-based therapeutic procedures to complement the clinical, educational and research missions of WVU. We have a growing outreach imaging program covering several hospitals in the tri-state area. Facility and imaging equipment is of the highest quality with outstanding clinical infrastructure in place. The department boasts a highly successful, federally funded PET instrumentation research team.
