HELLO!

Well, if I have made enough of an impression that you want to read about me, then I suppose I should oblige.  My name is Jonas Bateman, and I am an in-house recruiter for River Region Psychiatry Associates-including Alabama Psychiatry, Georgia Psychiatry, Kentucky Psychiatry, Tennessee Psychiatry and Ally Psychiatry.

Recruiting and being recruited is a tricky game for physicians.  It has been my experience that you, the physician, just want to get as much straight talk and direct information in as concise a manner as possible.  I understand.  I am married to a psychiatrist, and we have been through the endless rounds of phone calls with people fielding phone calls, the next call, and then the call with the guy in charge before we get usable information.

If you call me, I will have as much pertinent information to give you on your first call as I can. I do not want to waste your time.  I understand that not every job is for everyone and dragging the whole scenario out through multiple people and phone calls is not how I operate.

A phone call with me. I will tell you your expected income, incentives, benefits, call, location, what your day will look like in practice, who your colleagues will be, what the cities you can live in are like, what your commute times could be.  I will work hard to get you the information you need to make wise decisions about your life, in the most succinct way I can.

Beware of corporate recruiters who see you as a paycheck and don't really have your best interests at heart.  If you deal with a corporate recruiter, they will sell your information to anyone willing to pay them as much as 50k for the privilege.  They don't generally care about whether the fit is good for you.

I will not lie to you about what we can and cannot offer you. That does not do you or I any good.  If I recruit you, I will see you on a regular basis and I would not be able to face you if I lied to you, and you were unhappy with being here.

My promise to you is to be as honest and forthcoming as I can be, and to provide you with as much information in as few phone calls as possible.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Jonas
