Practice overview 

Hospital-employed position - outpatient clinic attached to a 49-bed Level III acute care hospital   

  • Type of practice:  Outpatient and inpatient; 40% OB, 60% GYN
  • Call schedule: 1:3 ratio;  Certified Nurse Midwives take first call for OB 20 days per month;  physicians take GYN call and consults from ER/MedSurg
  • Expected patient load: 10-20 patients daily average in clinic; provider likely to average of 6-8 deliveries/month; Labor and delivery averages 400 total deliveries annually
  • Procedures needed:  Full depth and breadth of obstetric and gynecologic procedures
  • EMR  – Meditech
  • Radiology services  – 128-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, onsite Radiologists 4 days per week, 24/7 remote tele-radiology services, limited interventional radiology available, ultrasonographers present and on call 7 days a week
