Academic Opportunities
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is recruiting a physiatrist with an interest in cancer rehabilitation and a strong desire to further their academic careers and advance the science and education in the field. We are building a team that will place UNMC on the national and international stage for PM&R, creating an environment that will provide our patients with extraordinary care.
Opportunity highlights:
Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, our clinical partner, has a CARF-accredited inpatient unit and outpatient clinic. It is one of only three freestanding rehabilitation hospitals in the country with long-term acute care (LTCH) and rehabilitation hospital levels of care under one roof. Madonna s cancer rehabilitation specialty program is one of just 14 such programs in the nation to be accredited by CARF, providing an opportunity to step into a program with a fully trained multidisciplinary cancer rehabilitation team. Modern Healthcare recently named Madonna as the fourth-largest rehabilitation hospital system in the US.
Our compensation package is highly competitive and includes comprehensive benefits, generous employer-paid retirement contributions, CME, and paid time off. The ideal candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board-certified/eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Candidates should have outstanding interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for patient care, and medical student and resident education.
We are committed to continuously fostering a diverse team that leverages the rich opportunities that can be generated through an array of ideas, backgrounds, and experiences. Interested candidates may send CV to pmr@unmc. edu or apply online at https://unmc. peopleadmin. com/postings/74715. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
