The Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a Chief of Hematology / Oncology to administratively manage the department and provide comprehensive hematological /oncological patient care to our Veterans. A clinical appointment at Emory is included with the position. The Chief maintains high clinical standards that are carried into the decision-making process and continually strives to maintain and enhance teaching skills to effectively teach fellows from our academic affiliate, Emory University.
The ideal applicant is a board-certified physician with advanced clinical experience as well as demonstrated administrative and leadership skills. Will perform hands-on clinical work, oversight, and administration of all aspects of the Hematology/Oncology Section, and may include guidance and training for medical residents, fellows and/or other trainees. Supervision of all staff, including physicians and mid-level providers within the Section.

- 50% admin, Lead a department of 20+ MD, NP, Med Technologist, Health Science Specialist, Cancer Registry Program Analysts

- Report to Chief, Medicine

- Mostly outpatient clinic with some inpatient consults
- Leadership experience preferred
Assistance with payment of med school loans up to $200K may be available.
