Physician Assistant - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Title: Emergency Room Physician Assistant

Location: Nellis Air Force Base – Las Vegas, NV

Overview: Nellis AFB is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Physician Assistant to provide high-quality emergency and primary care under physician supervision. The PA will assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a fast-paced military medical environment.

Hours: Nellis is a 24/7 facility that would require applicants to be available for all shifts.

Pay: Salary range from $130K - $140K Annually


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant Program.

  • Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or Red Cross–approved). NCCPA certification required. Certifications must remain current.

  • Experience: At least 24 months of PA experience within the last 36 months.

  • Licensure: Full, unrestricted PA license in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.

  • Board Certification: No additional board certification required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and primary care with physician supervision.

  • Conduct histories, physical exams, diagnostic evaluations, and develop treatment plans.

  • Identify and manage emergent conditions; initiate treatment and coordinate higher-level care.

  • Approve/deny specialty referrals and support patient phone consults.

  • Deliver preventive care and admit inpatients per facility procedures.

  • Stabilize and prepare emergency patients for transfer or evacuation.

  • Perform nerve blocks (digital, local infiltration, intercostal) and urological procedures.

  • Maintain accurate inpatient and outpatient medical records.
