CentralCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Registered Nurse (Pediatric RN) to provide full-time services at the 61st Medical Squadron located at Los Angeles Air Force Base. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pediatric Nurse to support our military members and their families as a federal civilian contractor.
Position Details:
Pay: $55.00/hour + $4.93/hour for health and wellness
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Sick Leave
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 0700–1600
Contract Length: 1 Year Preferred (with opportunity to extend)
Pediatric Registered Nurse (Pediatric RN) Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive pediatric nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Coordinate patient care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with all standards of care, policies, and procedures within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
Conduct physical exams and health histories for pediatric patients.
Provide health promotion, counseling, and education tailored to pediatric needs.
Triage and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions per established guidelines.
Administer medications, wound care, and other pediatric-specific interventions.
Prepare and administer vaccinations for pediatric patients according to MTF protocols.
Supervise and direct care provided by other healthcare professionals.
Assign patient care based on scope of practice and skill level.
Recognize and respond promptly to adverse signs and emergency situations.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Pediatric Registered Nurse Qualifications:
BSN Degree required
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
Active, unrestricted nursing license
Pediatric experience strongly preferred
