Pulmonary Hospitalist Opportunity at UK King's Daughters

Job Description

UK King's Daughters is a 455-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Kentucky. We are part of the University of Kentucky Health system. We own 40+ primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. In May, we completed a large construction project on campus, at a cost of $150 million, which gave us a new main entrance, a brand-new ER and an all-new Imaging Department. Our Emergency Department sees approximately 80,000 patients per year.  We have an open position for pulmonary hospitalist to join our Pulmonary/Critical Care Dept. The schedule will be 7 days on/7 days off (Monday through Sunday). The daily hours will be 8 am. to 5 pm. Night call will be every other night from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun), to include ICU calls (with Critical Care NP support onsite).

The incoming physician will have a guaranteed salary of $450,000. We offer a signing bonus and student loan repayment over the three years of the contract. The physician will also receive excellent benefits, including health, vision, dental and life insurance, paid occurrence for malpractice coverage, long-term disability, 401k/403b retirement plans, a CAP retirement savings plan for physicians only, and more.

Ashland, KY is a town of about 25,000 people, located along the Ohio River. We have a clean town with minimal traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, an indoor tennis center, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping. Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned for safe, family-friendly communities with an excellent cost of living. We also have some of the country's finest state parks that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting and biking. We have four seasons, all of which are relatively mild. We are also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville). And we are located about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, a town about twice the size of Ashland and the home of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.
