Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trauma Advanced practice Provider to join the Extant Healthcare team at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with outside of training
  • Strong clinical and procedural skills in trauma care
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with patients, nursing, physicians and administration
  • Board certification and current Virginia license or eligibility to obtain

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of patients with acute traumatic injuries in both emergency and inpatient settings
  • Provide interoperative support during trauma surgeries, including preoperative preparation, assisting during surgery, and postoperative care
  • Participate in trauma resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Participate in training and education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff

  • 466-bed Level l Trauma Center and Level l Burn Center
  • ACGME approved General Surgery Residency
  • 65-bed Emergency Department
  • 12-bed dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
  • 15 operating rooms
  • Tucker Pavilion – 137 beds dedicated to inpatient acute behavioral health care
  • Levinson Heart Institute – Cardiac surgery program, 3 interventional cardiac catheterization labs, 3 electrophysiology labs, ECMO programs, interventional radiology suite for Convergent Maze and IR procedures for AFIB
