About this role: As a General Surgeon, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you will provide acute care surgical services at Platte Valley Hospital on an as-needed basis. Typical procedures include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and other general surgery cases.
Weekend call coverage runs from Friday morning through Monday morning, with a minimum commitment of one weekend per month. During coverage, you'll round on 4-10 patients, perform an average of 3-4 surgeries, and participate in trauma handoff and patient management. There is also an option to hold a PRN clinic on Friday mornings for follow-up visits.
You'll join a collaborative team of three experienced surgeons and one advanced practice provider in a supportive environment that values teamwork and patient-centered care. We're seeking a surgeon who is comfortable working independently, preferably with trauma experience.

What you'll bring: - Minimum of two years post-training experience
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
- ACGME Residency training in General Surgery
- Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery
- ATLS and ACLS certifications required
- Active, unobstructed Colorado medical license, or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process

Platte Valley Hospital is part of Intermountain Health, a nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on helping people live their healthiest lives. At our 98 bed, Level IIl Trauma Center, our mission is to bring healthcare to our community. They formed auxiliary teams, rallied troops, and went door to door until they raised $500,000 to open Brighton Community Hospital (BCH) in 1960. BCH became the first private general medical-surgical hospital in Adams and Southern Weld Counties and Colorado's first two-stage hospital-nursing home medical unit licensed under one roof. In 1980, BCH became Platte Valley Hospital.
