Physician – Cardiothoracic Surgeon - Per Diem
Overview:
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking to recruit a fellowship trained Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our staff at Bassett Medical Center located in Cooperstown, NY.
The faculty practice consists of 15 cardiologists, 2 cardiac surgeons, and 18 advanced practice clinicians. The Bassett network includes over 500 employed practitioners serving Central New York and New York’s Leatherstocking Regions.

Job Description & Responsibilities:
Bassett performs 125 major cardiac surgical cases annually, including CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries. Our catheterization lab averages 600 PCI cases and about 75 TAVRs yearly. This position would involve performing primarily cardiac surgical cases and covering the inpatient census with the APC team. Participating in the Structural Heart team weekly as the covering surgeon for TAVRs and Watchman procedures, as well as Thoracic cases if interested, depending on experience.
