Assess, consult, and treat patients with general urologic disorders, in the outpatient and inpatient settings.
The Urologist is responsible for diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients in both settings, as appropriate for care of those patients.
This includes interpretation of the radiological testing of the urinary tract and other specialty imaging to establish diagnosis and assist in management of urologic disorders.
Surgical intervention within the scope of surgical privileges at the Aleta E. Lutz VAMC.
Act as the consultant for patients referred to him/her for input about the needed urologic care.
The Urologist will be responsible for the management of urological complications.
When indicated the urologist will facilitate transfer to a tertiary care center for risk reduction and to promote a safe outcome for the patient.
The conditions diagnosed, managed, and followed include, but are not limited to, the following: genitourinary malignancies; disorders of the kidneys, bladder, and genitals; urinary tract infections; infertility; erectile dysfunction; urinary incontinence; neurogenic bladder dysfunction; kidney stone disease; and other known urologic conditions.
