Veterans Engineering is seeking an experienced and board-certified Gastroenterology Physician to provide outpatient specialty care for Veterans at the Rochester Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive gastroenterology services including consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning in coordination with primary care and specialty teams within the VA network.
Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
Perform endoscopic procedures, including EGD and colonoscopy (if applicable per facility capabilities).
Review and interpret diagnostic studies related to GI health.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Document all encounters in the VA’s EMR system (Cerner).
Participate in staff meetings, peer reviews, and quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Education: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Training: Completed ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology.
License: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
Certifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (preferred)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in Gastroenterology.
Preferred: Prior VA or government healthcare experience and familiarity with Cerner EMR.
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
Background: Must successfully complete credentialing and security clearance through the VA.
