Compensation: Exempt, pay range $59.00/HR-$71.65/HR

Job Summary:
Examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaborations with other health care providers. Provides primary health services and comprehensive health and psychological assessments of a diverse panel of patients in accordance with recognized health maintenance programs, medical protocols, and state and federal requirements. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the management wellness as well as acute and chronic illness and injuries. The NP will cover evening or weekend telephone calls with other district providers on a rotating basis.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose or treat acute health care problems, such as illness, infections, or injuries.
- Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.
- Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
- Develop treatment plans, based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
- Perform a physical examination for any presenting problem(s).
- Analyze and interpret patient’s medical histories, symptoms, physical finding, or diagnostic information to develop diagnoses.
- Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic test, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and radiographs (x-rays).
- Maintain complete and detailed records of patient’s health care plans and prognoses.
- Perform or assist in laboratory or screening procedures routinely performed at the clinic site including collection of body fluid and tissue specimens and office microscopy.
- Assess and interview in the common development and behavioral problems of the family and its individual members.
- Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
- Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances, such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medication, or herbal remedies.
- Diagnose or treat chronic health care problems, such as, but not limited to, high blood pressure and diabetes.
- Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.
- Consult with, or refer patients to, appropriate specialist when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise.
- Maintain a current problem list, medication list, and immunization record of all patient records and perform timely processing of charts.
- Promote health and disease prevention in all patients through age group specific interventions including immunizations, counseling, physical examination, and accept screening procedures.
- Participate regularly in quality assurance and peer review activities, as well as medical and general staff meetings.
- Adhere to highest standards of medical ethics at all times.
- Documentation must be completed within 24 hours of visit, labs signed the day received and paperwork signed twice per week.

Required Education and Experience:
- Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner program.
- 2 (+) years of experience in applicable specialty
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
- Licensed in the state of WA as a ARNP by the time of employment
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
- Board certified by the time of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.
