The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician - Pricmary Care, board certified or board eligible, to join our expanding clinical practice. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.

Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Uses assessment skills to examine patients thoroughly using appropriate clinical, laboratory and other pertinent data.
  • Initiates appropriate and timely treatment.
  • Acts quickly in recognizing emergency situations and taking timely necessary action.
  • Promptly and completely reports physical examinations and changes in patient status.
  • Accurately interprets and evaluates clinical data for the purpose of determining diagnosis and clinical status.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the administrative, clinical, or educational programs.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a Primary Care Setting.
  • Prior experience in the hospital, emergency or trauma setting.

 

Highlights of this opportunity:

  • Potential starting base salary range:  $245,000-$275,000
  • Daily schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm      
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
  • No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Jackson, MS,  consist of eight colleges and universities,  three community colleges, and 11 school districts.
