The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified full-time permanent hospital employed ophthalmologist for a mixed practice focusing on Oculoplastic, Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma Surgery, and Medical Retina. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to our patients in a rural community, and will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders and diseases of the eyes. 50% of the practice is focused on oculoplastic with the other 50% percent spread evenly been medical retina and comprehensive ophthalmology (glaucoma and cataract surgery). Additional duties include conducting comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat eye diseases, injuries, and disorders, prescribing medications, corrective lenses, and other treatments to manage eye conditions, performing surgical procedures, including cataract removal and glaucoma treatments, developing and implementing personalized treatment plans for patients and monitoring patient progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
This position involves clinical care of patients, busy surgical practice, and resident and fellow teaching and supervision in the clinics and operating rooms and cover all subspecialty areas of ophthalmology. The Ophthalmologist Physician is accountable to the Chief of Ophthalmologist Service. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to Night and Weekend Primary Call, as well as residents/fellow education and training, and preceptorship to APRNs and PAs. Candidates will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance, and management of cardiovascular diseases. Additional duties include;
The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the Flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) facility. The Cardiology department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 70,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:00-4:30

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or Ophthalmology in the U.S.
Board Certified in Ophthalmology ONLY
The starting pay is $250,000 - $320,000 per year. No INCENTIVE is offered for this posion.
