Veterans Engineering is Seeking a Locum Tenens General Dentist

Position: General Dentist (Locum Tenens)

Locations

• Primary: Fort Yates, ND

• Secondary (as needed): McLaughlin, SD Satellite Clinic

Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Through July 15, 2026 (with a 6-month extension option)

Schedule

Fort Yates:

• Monday – Thursday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (½ hour lunch)

McLaughlin:

• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (½ hour lunch)

Call Requirement: None

Dentist will begin in Fort Yates and support McLaughlin as needed. Once a permanent provider is onboard (anticipated early January), the Locum will transition primarily to McLaughlin.

Practice Details

• Setting: Outpatient only

• Patient Population: All ages (majority adult patients)

• Daily Volume: ~6–8 patients/day

• Support Staff: Two Dental Assistants (Hygienist recruitment ongoing)

• Scope: General dentistry only; dentist performs procedures they are comfortable with

• EMR: Dentrix

Requirements

• Active BLS (American Heart Association)

• DEA License (Schedules 2–5; fee covered)

• Must meet credentialing requirements (estimated 4–6 week process)

Reason for Need

Coverage needed during a staffing shortage while permanent providers are being hired.
