The Lung Transplant/Thoracic Surgery night shift APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team.
The APP functions as a member of the lung transplant and thoracic surgery surgical management teams.
In conjunction with the attending, the APP will :
- oversee care from OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care
- may provide care throughout the system including ICU, progressive, and telemetry.
The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates:
- an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge
- clinical and technical competency
- sound clinical judgment
- professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills
- timely and compliant documentation
- takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
- Night positions will receive priority for PTO amongst the team.
- Night positions automatically receive 10% increase in pay compared to day positions.
- Night positions only work 6 shifts in a pay period rather than 7 shifts required for day positions.
