About this role:

As a Shoulder and Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. The Musculoskeletal team at St. George Regional Hospital has 29 providers: 14 physicians and 15 APPs. Fellow physicians specialize in orthopedic sports medicine, hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty, hand & elbow, hip preservation, orthopedic trauma, and non-surgical sports medicine.

The goal for this physician is to help Intermountain Health patients and Southwest Utah community members to live the healthiest lives possible. St. George Regional Hospital is currently a Level II facility, with a dedicated and functioning trauma program. This position will support a busy and established shoulder/elbow practice, with a heavy shoulder and elbow case load.

In this role, you can anticipate:
  • Practicing from St. George Regional Hospital and Southwest Orthopedics and Spots Medicine Clinic in St. George, Utah.
  • You can anticipate 2 days per week in clinic and 2 days per week OR surgical time.
  • Orthopedic Trauma Program call; you will be asked to participate in call, but commitment varies by need. Compensation offered for call requirement.
  • Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support in clinic and OR.
  • Local ASC with potential to participate.
  • Our MSK team provides coverage for and has a direct referral source from local Division 1 school, Utah Tech University, as well as the local Washington County High Schools. This position will support the Sports Medicine team in the treatment of sports related shoulder and elbow conditions.
  • Comprehensive treatment of all shoulder and elbow conditions.
  • This position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable).
  • Enjoy large referral base of primary care providers
  • Employment with the Intermountain Medical Group
  • Start date: Summer 2027

What you'll bring:
  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • ACGME accredited residency training in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS certification and DEA
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
