Employer: Torrance Surgical Alliance
Location: Torrance, CA 90503
Torrance Surgical Alliance is seeking a full-time Surgical Hospitalist to join our established and collegial surgical team in the South Bay region of Los Angeles. This position offers an immediate start upon successful completion of hospital credentialing at Torrance Memorial Medical Center (TMMC) and Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance (PLCOMT).
About the Role
The Surgical Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient management, emergency department surgical consults, postoperative rounding, and co-management of surgical patients, with a primary focus on Acute Care Surgery (ACS). The role combines cross-coverage shifts, call responsibilities, and hospital rounds, with occasional office-based follow-up for hospital-operated patients.
Responsibilities include the evaluation and surgical management of ER and in-house consults, both operative and non-operative, as clinically indicated.
There is no trauma call requirement.
While our practice is highly specialized in complex bariatric and hernia care, this position centers on acute surgical admissions, ACS consults, and emergency general surgery rather than elective bariatric or hernia cases. Participation in elective procedures may occur only in rare, pre-arranged, or unforeseen circumstances.

Participate in cross-coverage of acute general surgery cases at TMMC and PLCOMT.
Interact with the practice’s bariatric and minimally invasive surgery fellow, with opportunities for teaching at the discretion of the Fellowship Program Director.
