Exciting Opportunity: Anesthesiologist at Salisbury NC VAMC

 

Join our dedicated team at the Salisbury NC VAMC as an Anesthesiologist. We are seeking a highly committed full-time physician to fill this crucial role within our Anesthesiology Department. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated candidates who are passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and interdisciplinary environment.

Position Details

  1. Job Title: Anesthesiologist
  2. Employment Type: Full-time
  3. Salary Range: $360,000 — $378,000
  4. Location: Salisbury NC VAMC

Practice Environment

  1. Role: Anesthesia support for Inpatient/Outpatient surgical and GI procedures.
  2. Practice Demographics:
    1. Inpatient and Outpatient settings
    2. Reports to department leadership
  3. Work Schedule: 0700 – 1530, Monday to Friday, with call as detailed below.
  4. Call Coverage: Home call approximately 4-6 weeknights per month, 1 weekend home call approximately every 1.5 months.

  3. Specialized Equipment and Cases: Includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Plastics, ECT, GI, and TEE/Cardioversion.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any State.
  • Board Certified / Eligible
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  1. Residency Training must have been completed, approved by the secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  2. U.S. Citizenship: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience
  4. Regional anesthesia experience

Compensation & benefits Package

  1. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
  2. Paid Time Off: 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
  3. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
  4. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
  5. Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  6. CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).
  7. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
  8. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
