POSITION DETAILS:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated part-time General Surgery Physician Assistant to collaborate with our esteemed team of surgeons in providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with surgical procedures, managing pre-and post-operative care, and contributing to the overall efficiency and excellence of our surgical services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in Surgical Procedures:Work closely with the surgical team to assist in various general surgery procedures, including but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, appendectomies, hernia repairs, and colorectal surgeries.
- Pre and Post-Operative Care:Manage pre-operative assessments, including patient history and physical examinations. Provide post-operative care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with the surgical team to optimize recovery.
- Patient Education:Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Ensure clear communication regarding treatment plans and expectations.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including medical histories, progress notes, and treatment plans, in accordance with established protocols.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have the following:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience in general surgery or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
