This superb group of Emergency Medicine physicians value what this unique practice has to offer.
OBMC has two (2) hospital-based ED’s in Richmond and one (1) ER in nearby Wharton, TX. By cross-credentialing at 3 area ERs, scheduling flexibility and setting options are extended with one credentialing process. The ER in Wharton tends to have greater desirability due to their 24-hour shifts. The two Richmond ERs schedule 12-hour shifts 7 to 7, and ER physicians provide a combination of day and night shifts. A preference for nights only, or not doing 24’s, can be accommodated. OBMC provides care for all ages and proudly offers “no-wait ER services.” These are Lev 3 and Lev 4 ERs with most medical specialists represented.

OBMC Jackson Street Campus
- 16,500 patients per year
- 45 patients per day (2 Pts./hour) - 15% admissions rate
- 16-bed ED
- APP Coverage 56 hours/week Noon to 8PM
- 24-hour physician coverage; shifts 7A-7P; 7P-7A
- The hospitalist station is convenient adjacent to the ER.
- 120-Bed Hospital
- Full labs on site: X-ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, US, POCUS
- EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
OBMC -Williams Way Campus
- 11,300 patients per year
- 31 patients per day (1.8 Pts./hour); 15% admissions rate
- 8 bed ED
- Single physician coverage – shifts: 7A -7P; 7P-7A
- 57 Bed Hospital
- Full lab on site; XRAY, CT, US, POCUS
- EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
- OB/woman’s services focus on OB and Peds, physician readily available in-house.
OBMC -Wharton Campus
- 9,500 patients per year
- 26 Patients/ day (1.1 /hr)-15% admissions rate
- 6-bed ED
- Physician shifts: 24-hour single physician coverage
- 40 Bed Hospital
- Full labs, X-ray, CT, US, POCUS
- EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
Liability Insurance Protection: Procured by IES (for 1099 or W2) through Medical Protective of Ft. Wayne, IN. An occurrence-based policy requires no tail coverage.
Required Qualifications
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained physician
- BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with recent one year of post-grad hospital ER experience.
- Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA, ACLS, ATLS, PALS
