Job Description:

The New Mexico Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a licensed Endodontist to join our team and help transform how we provide healthcare in times of great need (Vacancy #: IHS-23-NJ-11842876-ESEP/MP). This position offers the opportunity to serve in Albuquerque, NM, known for its rich culture and beautiful landscapes.

Duties:

  • Perform clinical endodontic procedures, including root canal treatment, retreatment, and related surgeries.
  • Conduct comprehensive oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity, diagnosing pathological or irregular endodontic conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for complex cases, ensuring proper referral for additional medical evaluations as needed.
  • Provide preventive services such as oral health education and fluoride treatments.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and improve dental health outcomes for veterans.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Dedicated experience in endodontics, with expertise in diagnosing and treating complex dental health problems.
  • Possession of a full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in any state or US territory.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to serving veterans and improving their dental health care.

Experience:

  • Experience includes paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current enrollment and expected completion of required education and obtaining relevant licensure/certification/registration within 6 months of applying may be considered.
