Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - General & Vascular Surgery (Ball Memorial Hospital)

Job Description

IU Health Ball Physicianshas an opportunity for an experiencedNurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join our establishedGeneraland Vascular Surgery team at IU HealthBall MemorialHospital in Muncie, IN.

Opportunity Details

  • Full Time, Nights
    • No Call, No Weekends
    • 4-10-hour shifts Monday -Thursday
  • 100% inpatient

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with our on-call surgeon overnight
  • Examine and disposition patients overnight (admissions, discharges)
  • First call for overnight surgical consults, surgical needs, charting, placing orders, booking surgeries, communicating with day shift and on call night shift providers, respond to traumas overnight, assist in surgery and minor procedures
  • Must be a critical thinker, excellent in communication and able to work independently

Procedures Performed

  • I&D
  • Punch Biopsies
  • Simple wound closures
  • Assist in OR
  • Chest tube and drain removal

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Must be ACNP, FNP or PA Board Certified
  • Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Indiana
  • Must have at least 1 year of inpatient APP experience, OR experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will be an experienced APP in surgery, orinpatient medicine, or ER, OR experience
