The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Division of Infectious Diseases is accepting applications for full-time physicians in Infectious Diseases, starting July 2026. The ideal candidate(s) would be a physician with excellent communication skills, experience working within multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
The position includes consultative care on a General Infectious Diseases inpatient service that includes Advanced Practice Professionals and ID fellows. This position allows engagement in educational activities for all levels of learners and opportunities to participate in clinical or translational research programs. Depending on interest and training, there are additional options to attend on a dedicated musculoskeletal infections service, an HIV inpatient service, a transplant ID service, an inpatient telemedicine consult service for rural healthcare facilities and to participate in antimicrobial stewardship activities.
VUMC is the largest comprehensive research, teaching, and patient care health system in the Mid-South. The VUMC research enterprise is ranked in the top 10 nationally, with robust programs in quality improvement, bioinformatics, and personalized medicine. The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant division which includes more than 60 full-time faculty and 14 Infectious Diseases fellows, with support from dedicated Infectious Diseases pharmacists.
