Veterans Engineering (VE) is actively recruiting Board-Certified Anesthesiologists to join our team supporting the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS). This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesia care to our nation’s Veterans in a world-class federal healthcare setting.
You will be part of a collaborative team serving a diverse patient population requiring a wide range of surgical and procedural anesthesia services. The environment offers both professional fulfillment and work-life balance with stable hours and no weekend or holiday commitments.
Provide comprehensive anesthesiology care for operating room and procedural cases (GI, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology).
Deliver anesthesia for cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, ENT, ophthalmologic, and general surgical procedures.
Manage patients in surgical intensive care, acute and chronic pain management, and emergency airway situations.
Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia care.
Collaborate with surgical and procedural teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Board Certification: American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
Licensure: Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital-based anesthesiology experience, including recent cardiothoracic experience
Other: Must meet all VA credentialing and privileging standards (VHA Directives 1100.20 & 1100.21)
Must maintain continuing medical education (CME) and certification requirements.
Must complete all VA-mandated training prior to start.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Must adhere to VA medical staff bylaws and facility policies.
The Minneapolis VA Health Care System operates 13 surgical suites and multiple procedure rooms, supporting over 6,000 annual cases. More than two-thirds of cases are classified as major surgeries, with a large focus on cardiac and vascular procedures.
