The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is seeking an accomplished and dedicated Chief of Critical Care Medicine to lead our multidisciplinary ICU team in delivering exceptional care to America’s Veterans. Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Perform and/or supervise critical care procedures including central line placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, EBUS, thoracentesis, and others as required.

• Examine and evaluate each patient for admission to the ICU and communicate assessment and recommendations with the admitting physician.

• Perform and document comprehensive Critical Care Medicine consultations for all ICU patients.

• Write ICU orders, in addition to the admitting physician’s orders, as necessary for optimal patient care.

• Perform and document daily ICU rounds and subsequent evaluations for all patients at least once every 24 hours and as needed.

• Collaborate with admitting physicians and consultants to develop, coordinate, and implement diagnostic and treatment plans.

• Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of individual clinical privileges.

• Actively participate in the education and training of residents and medical students, including leading Noon Conferences and other didactic sessions.

• Support and participate in ongoing education programs for ICU staff and the broader medical team.

• Contribute to the monitoring, quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care.

• Attend and contribute to ICU Committee meetings; develop and update ICU policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model across all levels of the organization.

• Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews to ensure the highest standards of care.
