Duties:
- Lead and manage the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care to elderly veterans.
- Develop and oversee strategic plans and clinical programs including Geriatrics, Hospice, Palliative Care, and Community Living Centers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance geriatric care and effectively address the healthcare needs of aging veterans.
- Implement and adhere to policies, protocols, and standards in alignment with VHA goals and mission.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide training to medical staff and healthcare professionals within the GEC service line.
- Drive healthcare outcomes improvement through quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices.
- Represent the GEC service on various internal and external committees and working groups.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Board Eligible/Board certification in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in the United States.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
