Wellmont Cardiology Services seeks an Interventional Cardiology physician to utilize his or her medical education, residency training, fellowship and Tennessee medical license to provide services treating diseases of the heart and vascular system. In this capacity, the physician will perform and order diagnostic tests, and then analyze the results as well as work with the patient and other medical providers to develop a plan of care and course of treatment to address medical conditions such as chest pain, high blood pressure, heart failure as well as heart abnormalities, strokes, diseases of the arteries, blood clots and other health related issues with the heart and vascular system. In this role, the physician will meet directly with patients to discuss and monitor the healing process. The physician will also coordinate a scope and plan of care utilizing medical equipment and services provided by the facilities, as well as prescribing medications and treatments. Additional responsibilities associated with this position will include prescribing medications and related treatments. Further responsibilities include the responsibility of overseeing prescription maintenance, which would include following up with the patient to confirm he or she is properly following recommended treatments and/or medications and is otherwise in compliance with the plan of treatment. The primary worksite for this position is hospital located in Bristol, Tennessee. Occasionally, the physician will be providing services at a nearby practice facility, as needed, on the grounds of the medical development surrounding the hospital, which is the primary worksite location. The physician in this position must have an M.D., a D.O. or foreign medical degree equivalent. The person also must have eligibility to practice medicine in Tennessee, and Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine and Interventional Cardiology.
