Overview
Veterans Engineering (VE) is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide services for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. This contract is structured as one (1) base year with four (4) one-year option periods, offering long-term stability while serving a critical mission: providing high-quality care to our nation’s Veterans.

Contract Term: One (1) base year + four (4) one-year option periods
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week; potential for call coverage as assigned
Start Date: Upon completion of VA credentialing/privileging
Duration: Ongoing with annual renewals
Staff / Facility
Licensure: Must hold a current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Licenses that are suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or restricted will not be considered.
Board Certification : Must be Board Certified / Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology per the American Board of Radiology (ABR). CME requirements must be kept current; documentation will be required annually.
Credentialing & Privileging : All physicians must be credentialed and privileged in accordance with VHA Directives. No services may be performed prior to approval by the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director. Substitutes must be provided if privileges are suspended or revoked.
Technical Proficiency: Must demonstrate technical proficiency in all interventional radiology procedures, be fluent in English (spoken/written), and comply with all VA Medical Staff By-Laws and facility rules/regulations. Educational and training history must be fully documented, including any gaps.
CME / CEU Requirements : Physicians must maintain CME hours as required by credentialing bodies and report them to the VA credentialing office for tracking. Failure to provide CME documentation may result in loss of privileges.
Training : Physicians must meet all VA-mandatory training requirements, including but not limited to: ACLS, BLS, EHR systems, Radiology/Nuclear Medicine training, and any additional VA-mandated courses. Updates to training requirements will be communicated by the VA and must be completed to remain eligible.
