We are seeking a Director of Pediatric Education (non-tenure track, clinical faculty) to join the College of Medicine. This is a full-time leadership role with primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and a unique opportunity to shape pediatric education at NEOMED while collaborating closely with Akron Children’s Hospital.
Position Highlights:
- Lead and innovate pediatric medical education, including development of an accelerated pathway to residency in collaboration with Akron Children’s.
- Teach and mentor medical students, with primary responsibility for the M3 Pediatric Clerkship and contributions to the preclinical curriculum.
- Develop and deliver engaging pediatric content aligned with national standards, using active and innovative teaching modalities.
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to ensure integrated, contemporary, and learner-centered curriculum delivery.
- Opportunity to dedicate 0.1–0.2 FTE to external clinical practice at Akron Children’s.
- Engage in scholarly activity and educational research, with support for publications, extramural funding, and academic advancement.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree with board certification in Pediatrics.
- Eligible for Ohio medical licensure (if clinical practice desired).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in undergraduate, graduate, or medical student teaching.
- Strong background in curriculum development, educational innovation, and student mentoring.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated scholarship in medical education.
- Ability to mentor learners and junior faculty.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative and humanistic academic environment.
