We are now hiring for a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join our Thoracic Surgery department located at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Position Details:
- Full-time, M-F position
- Currently no weekends or holidays
- No Call
- 60% Inpatient, 40% Outpatient
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care across both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Outpatient responsibilities include:
- Clinic coverage on Mondays and Wednesdays where the APP will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively
- Manage follow ups
- Collaborate with surgical team to develop care plans
- Inpatient responsibilities include:
- Conduct daily rounds
- Manage post operative recovery
- Perform bedside procedures such as chest tube and wound care, and also coordinate discharge planning
- Strong clinical judgement, effective communication, and the ability within a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree Required
- ACNP, FNP, PA certification Required
- ACNP or PA with prior clinical experience in surgical services.
- Prior cardiothoracic or general thoracic experience preferred
