Job Description

Vanderbilt Health is seeking an acute care or general surgeon to join a growing regional practice in Lebanon, Tennessee, about 25 miles east of downtown Nashville.

Position Highlights:

  1. Join an existing cohort of three surgeons supporting Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH), a 245-bed acute care hospital and Level III Trauma Center.
  2. In this non-faculty position, enjoy a mix of acute care surgery and elective general surgery with a dedicated First Assist, experienced OR staff, and excellent turnover times.
  3. Cover 16 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts in this acute care surgery model, with evenly shared days/nights/holidays.
  4. Outpatient clinic shared with the group and supported by dedicated APP staff.
  5. Excellent support from colleagues and leadership as well as strong relationships with hospital medicine and other subspecialties.
  6. Access to resources available through the larger VUMC Surgery Section, including case conferences, education, professional development, and mentorship.
  7. Enjoy practicing in a close-knit and growing hospital with a team that is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to the local community.

Qualifications: MD/DO with board certification or eligibility in General Surgery and/or Acute Care Surgery with a firm commitment to the Vanderbilt values of innovation, collaboration, and quality.
