Community Physicians Orthopedics is looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) to support our Orthopedic Surgeon in Wise County, VA. The clinic is located on the Norton Community Hospital campus and treats acute and chronic orthopedic injuries. The PA will provide care in clinic, the OR, and take call.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat new and chronic orthopedic conditions
- Fracture management, including reductions
- Casting and splinting
- Pre- and post-operative patient care
- Surgical assisting/First assist duties
- Injection therapy and joint aspirations
- Inpatient consults and ER admissions; take ED/hospital calls
- Medical record documentation and discharge summaries
Required qualifications
- Master of Science degree
- Graduate of an accredited PA program
- NCCPA certified and Virginia-licensed PA (or eligible)
- First Assist experience or certification
- Orthopedic experience preferred
