2 (more) CRNAs for the IHS hospital in Shiprock, NM
THE SHORT: We’ve been the exclusive contract holder for CRNAs at the IHS hospital in Shiprock, NM since 2022. Facility got approval for 6 total, and we’re looking to fill the last two spots.

LOCATION: Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM. Situated 29 miles from Farmington, NM.
DURATION / START DATE
- Begin asap, with the understanding that credentialing, security, and any notification to your current employer may delay the start date.
- 18-month contract, likely continuing after that.
- Note: The duration of the contract is between the government and us. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you give us a 60-day notice.
COMPENSATION:
- 1099 all-inclusive
- Regular/Overtime/Call-Back: $265/hour
- On-Call (weeknight, weekends, holidays): $45/hour
- We cover Med Mal (claims made + 3yr tail)
SCHEDULE:
- M-F 7am – 3:30 pm
- Call is from 3:30pm until 7 am the next morning
- Weekend and Holiday call is 7am – 7am
- There are 8 anesthesia providers and call is shared equally
- When on call, can stay in Gov lodging apartment (3 min walk to hospital)
- Satellite Internet Service provided by Wander Staffing to the On-Call quarters
- Request vacation/time off just like you would with any other job (earlier the better)
HOSPITAL INFO:
- Size of hospital: Small, level IV center
- Size of Dept: There are other CRNAs and Physician Anesthesiologists (8 total when all positions staffed)
- Types of cases: B&B (Gen, podiatry, some ortho, some OB, rare C-sections, GI. No cardiac, no neuro). They only do the rare spinal for OB (no epidural service).
NOTES FROM EXISTING CRNAs:
- Not busy. Lots of down time.
- Good place to make some good money and “relax” or take a “break”
- 7-8 FTEs, so minimal call
- Chief is fair, surgeons are great, everyone gets along
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any state license accepted (including D.C., Puerto Rico, or other U.S. Territory)
- Unrestricted DEA
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Minimum 1-year experience
- Must be able to pass background check as part of their security process
- Clean record (no criminal history, license censure, terminations)
LODGING:
Nearest lodging from the facility is approximately 30 miles away in Farmington, NM. If you google the area, you will see they have plenty lodging, dining, and entertainment options. Government lodging is available for on-call CRNA (3 min walk to hospital)
