Job Description

Job Title: APP Medical Director - Electrophysiology Department: Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute (SHVI) Location: Swedish Heart & Vascular Electrophysiology Clinic FTE: 0.2 Administrative, 0.8 Clinical Reports To: Executive Medical Director, SHVI & Senior Director of Operations, SHVI Position Summary: The APP Medical Director for Electrophysiology provides clinical leadership and administrative oversight for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the Swedish Heart & Vascular Electrophysiology Clinic. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based care delivery, fosters professional development, and supports operational excellence in alignment with SHVI’s mission and strategic goals. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Administration (0.2 FTE)

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for APCs in the Electrophysiology program.
  • Serve as a liaison between APCs, physicians, and administrative leadership.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of new APCs.
  • Conduct regular department meetings in coordination with Clinic Supervisor.
  • Represent APCs in EP committees meetings.
  • Collaborate with the SHVI leadership team to develop and implement protocols, workflows, and
  • quality metrics specific to electrophysiology care.
  • Participate in budget planning, staffing models, and resource allocation for the EP clinic. Clinical Practice (0.8 FTE)
  • Deliver direct patient care in the Electrophysiology clinic, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment
  • planning, and follow-up.
  • Serve as a clinical role model, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize remote monitoring tools and technologies to support patient care.
  • Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to arrhythmia management
  • and device therapy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement, data interpretation, and strategic planning.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in the State of Washington.
  • Board certification and current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiology or electrophysiology.
  • Prior leadership or program development experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with device management, remote monitoring platforms, and EP-specific workflows Compensation is between $124,792 and $158,280 per year
