Position Overview

The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, located in Clarksburg, WV, alongside its

Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Gassaway, Parkersburg, Parsons, and

Westover, is actively seeking qualified Primary Care Physicians (PCPs). The selected

physicians will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to veterans,

demonstrating expertise in Family Medicine and a commitment to high-quality, patient-

centered healthcare.

QPCS is seeking providers to support each location. Travel will be provided and/or

reimbursed.

Qualifications

 Licensure: Applicants must possess an active, current, and unrestricted medical

license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United

States, or the District of Columbia. Physicians with licenses that have been

 Board Certification: Candidates must be Board Certified in Family Medicine or

(speaking, understanding, reading, and writing) and compliance with the Medical

Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations of the facility. Documentation of ongoing

competency, skills, certification, licensure, and educational history must be

furnished upon request.

 Continuing Medical Education (CME): Physicians must fulfill CME/CEU

requirements to maintain certification. Current CME records are to be submitted

to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and tracked by the credentials

office. Failure to provide these records may result in loss of privileges.

 Mandatory Training: Completion of all VA educational and mandatory courses is

required, including ACLS, BLS, EHR, and other trainings specific to VA

standards. Physicians must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced

Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Updates to training

 Proven ability to deliver patient-centered care to a diverse veteran population is

essential.

 Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with
