We’re seeking a high-performing Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) with a passion for cardiothoracic care. This is more than just assisting in surgery—it’s being an integral member of the surgical team, managing complex cardiac and thoracic patient populations, from pre-operative to post-operative care, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons and residents in surgical first assist roles.
Conduct advanced patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and manage medically complex cardiothoracic patients.
Provide direct patient care along the continuum: pre-op evaluation; intra-operative assist; post-op ICU, step-down, and floor care.
Lead patient/family education efforts, care coordination, and discharge planning.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and protocol development specific to cardiothoracic surgery.
Serve as a mentor/educator to other APCs, students, or providers in training as appropriate.
NP or PA certification and licensure in good standing.
Cardiothoracic surgery experience, or demonstrated ability to learn and thrive in high acuity surgical settings.
Strong critical thinking, autonomy, and exceptional clinical judgment.
Excellent interpersonal skills—communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy are key.
Ability to work flexible schedules, possibly including evenings, weekends, or on-call rotations.
