Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide expert clinical care in a broad range of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Emergency and elective abdominal surgery
  • Hernia repair (open and laparoscopic)
  • Gallbladder surgery
  • Breast surgery (benign and malignant)
  • Endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal)
  • Skin and soft tissue excisions
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (preferred, but not required)

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, hospitalists, and primary care physicians, to manage comprehensive patient care and contribute to innovative treatment plans. Participate in the education and mentorship of medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals as opportunities arise. Engage in and contribute to the development of research initiatives in general surgery, if desired. Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely patient records. Contribute to the growth and development of the surgery division within Baylor St. Luke's Health. Flexible and willing to support organizational needs with regard to healthcare and market changes. Established clinical expertise with a commitment to excellent patient care outcomes. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to serve as a committed team member and clinical leader in the workplace. Oriented toward customer service and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications Required:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Texas licensed, preferred

Experience: 1-3 Years’ experience preferred, but new grads will also be considered
