Title: Medical Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Department: Providence PCN, Providence Swedish Digestive Health Institute and Swedish Gastroenterology Reports to: Executive Medical Director Providence Swedish Digestive Health Institute Dyad Partner(s): Executive, Swedish Gastroenterology Medical Director, Operations Directors and Gastroenterology Sr Manager FTE: 1.0 FTE (0.9 FTE Clinical, 0.1 FTE Medical Director) Role (Position Description): The Medical Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program, will develop and lead the IBD program at Swedish and across the Physician Enterprise Puget Sound (PEPS). Responsibilities: Develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary IBD Program across Swedish and the Puget Sound and Washington State Accountabilities: Medical Director will be accountable to Executive Medical Director of Digestive Health Institute and Accountable Leader will hold regular meetings to monitor and review progress. Accountable Leader will conduct an annual evaluation of the Medical Director’s performance and accomplishments. During the annual evaluation, the upcoming year objectives and goals will be determined and memorialized in an evaluation repository. Initial Term Objectives: Subsequent objectives will be updated annually in agreement between Medical Director and Accountable Leader, and will not require a contract amendment. Core Competencies:

- Working with accountable leader and dyad partner, develop objectives and associated goals that align with SHS mission and Swedish DHI strategic vision.
- Objectives and associated goals should be actionable and support the realization of the SHS strategic plan
- Achieves said goals
- On an annual basis, update objectives and goals with accountable leader and dyad partner based on previous year accomplishments and organizational needs and strategies.
- Partnership and engagement with Administrative Dyad
- Medical Director will provide clinical direction and oversight, and Administrative Dyad will provide operational leadership and business expertise
- Trust, respect, recognition of the partnership.
- Mutually accountable to dyad partner for collaborative decision making, planning, and execution of the work to be accomplished together.
- Dedicated communication with dyad partner to be conducted on a regular basis. 4. Monitor development and adherence to policies and procedures
- Provide medical direction and oversight for the development, implementation and compliance with appropriate program policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Consult and participate actively in all compliance efforts, including but not limited to, standards and recommendations of the Joint Commission or DNV, applicable standards of relevant professional societies, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. 5. Clinical Quality
- Champion development of best-in-class clinical quality and outcomes across the care continuum in accordance with national standards/benchmarks.
- Ensure alignment and execution of Providence Clinical Program Services Quality and/or Operating Metrics
- As appropriate and/or directed, serve or delegate participation in relevant Providence Clinical Program Services or system level functions Qualifications:
- Licensed Physician in the state of Washington
- Swedish Medical Center medical staff member in good standing
- Active Board Certification in relevant Specialty
- Active DEA Registration Compensation is between $350,000 and $475,000 per year
