🩺 The Role: Full-Time Emergency Medicine APP/APRN

Located at Kimball Health Services in Kimball, Nebraska, this position is unique within APW because it blends emergency department care, outpatient clinic responsibilities, and inpatient management in a rural setting. APPs here provide a broad scope of practice—including all standard ED procedures—and receive robust support through telephonic physician backup.

What You’ll Do

• Manage patient flow and care across clinic, inpatient, and emergency department settings.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, interpret diagnostics, initiate treatment plans, and coordinate continuity across care settings.
• Perform full scope of ED procedures (suturing, splinting, reductions, etc.).
• Stabilize and triage emergencies, manage admissions, and ensure seamless transitions between settings
• Document accurately in Epic EMR and collaborate with nursing and on-call physician support.

🧠 The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Has ≥2 years of Emergency Department APP experience (rural or community hospital preferred).
• Comfortable working as the solo provider in a rural ED with phone backup.
• Has both clinic and inpatient experience or is eager to apply both in one role.
• Holds active Nebraska licensing (or is eligible), plus current ACLS, BLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
• Professional, reliable, and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• No need to live locally—practitioners currently travel to Kimball and return home following their shifts.

💵 Pay & Benefits

We’re proud to offer clear, fair, and transparent compensation:

Hourly Pay

• Full Time: $90/hr.

🏥 The Hospital: Kimball Health Services

Kimball Health Services (KHS) opened its brand-new facility in February 2024, tripling its size and expanding available services. It now features modern equipment, surgical suites, CT and MRI, expanded physical therapy, and new service lines such as mammography, chemotherapy infusions, and cardiac rehab.

Emergency Department Highlights

• Annual ED volume: ~4,000 visits.
• EMR: Epic.
• Typical schedule: 24-hour shifts that include clinic hours and on-call/rounding.
• 2 active ORs with a 3rd on standby.
