Pediatrics - Cardiology Job at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady in Baton Rouge, LA

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health is rapidly expanding and looking for an additional Pediatric Cardiologist to join its team of providers. Candidates must be board eligible, or board certified, in Pediatric Cardiology. The ideal candidate should possess meticulous attention to detail while demonstrating emotional resilience in challenging medical situations. More importantly, applicants should have a kind bedside manner and excellent communication skills-- using empathy and compassion to communicate with patients and families.

This position is supported by four board certified Pediatric Cardiologists and one Physician Assistant as well as 90+ pediatric sub-specialists in over 25+ different specialties available for consult and collaboration. In addition, Our Lady of the Lake is home to its successful Pediatric Residency program where teaching and clinical research opportunities are available as well.

Opened in October 2019 with 350,000 sq. feet of state-of-the-art equipment, Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital’s new free-standing facility is the first hospital in Louisiana built specifically for children. This 91-bed facility includes 30 ED bays, two trauma rooms and helipad, along with six operating rooms, 30-bed PICU, 11-bed NICU, playrooms, and a family resource center. In addition, one full floor is dedicated to pediatric oncology services including one of the largest St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital affiliate clinics. The Pediatric Cardiology clinic is located in the new 95,000 square-foot medical office building adjacent to the hospital.
