Residency Program Director Neurology - Poughkeepsie, NY
Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, located just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking a board certified Neurologist to work with our residents in conjunction with our busy and growing practice. As the Program Director you will be responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Program sponsored by Nuvance. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the program. The Program Director is expected to integrate the Residency Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.
Candidates will be board certified in Neurology and have extensive graduate medical education experience, with at least 3-5 years in Neurology residency leadership roles; Subspecialty training is desired but not a prerequisite.
The work schedule follows a business day model with call responsibilities. This position combines both inpatient and outpatient duties. The position offers a competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits.
Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a brand new 696,000-square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, recently adding Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care and women and childrens health services.
