Local Team Collaboration:
- Become part of a cohesive and long-standing team at Southwest Pulmonary Associates
- Work alongside board-certified pulmonary/critical care physicians to provide outpatient pulmonary care to patients in the Plano community
Qualifications:
- Board-certified Nurse Practitioner with unrestricted license
- Licensed to practice in Texas
- Maintains current BLS, ACLS, and other relevant certification(s) and awareness of related accreditation and certification requirements
- Two plus years of relevant experience preferred
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Practice in the Heart of the Community
Scheduling:
- Monday through Friday- day shift 8 a.m. 5 p.m.
- Part-time position 2-3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform medical examinations using standard medical procedures under the direction of a physician
- Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress in patient charts
- Demonstrates knowledge of pulmonary and critical care principles and practice protocols
- Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role in an emergency
- Coordinate with physicians, extenders, nurses, and other staff to improve patient care and outcomes
- Demonstrates knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in pulmonary science
- Demonstrates working knowledge of medications, with their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects and correct administration
- Educates patients and/or families as to the nature of the disease, provides instruction on proper care, self-management, and treatment, and works with patients to develop an individualized care plan
